They want to cancel my favorite TV show. I guess many of you know Stargate SG-1 (fan site), if not, give it a try, I’m sure at least it will make you think a little.

There’s a fan campaing to save the series. MGM is considering to cancel the longest consecutive running sci-fi TV show (yes, registered by the Guiness Book). Not that I will spend any money on helping this campaing, but I do really love the show! So the least I can do is posting this little manifestation to show my support for this great series.

This may be old news for many people, but I’ve just discovered it today. There’s some interesting sincronicity between “Dark Side of the Moon” (Pink Floyd) and “The Wizard of Oz”. Some pages have enough evidence to support it. You can watch the video and see for your self.

Isso pode não ser novidade pra muita gente, mas eu só descobri hoje. Existe uma sincronia interessante entre “Dark Side of the Moon” (Pink Floyd) e “The Wizard of Oz”. Alguns sites até possuem bastante evidência sobre o assunto. Você pode assistir o vídeo e tirar suas próprias conclusões.

CBS released the InnerTube. It’s a service similar to ABC’s online episodes, but it’s way better in the sense that it’s open to the worldwide public, while ABC restricts the access to US only. Unfortunately they’re not planning to broadcast full episodes of their series for now. They’re starting with hotspots, internet specials (interviews, making-offs, etc) and commercials. Well, it’s great anyway!

They will release totally free the latest episodes from “Lost”, “Desperate Housewives”, “Commander in Chief” and “Alias” on-line, on the next day it’s aired on the US. They’re using this strategy to reduce the P2P piracy, even though you can’t download the video, just watch the stream. Anyway, it’s great news!

A rede americana ABC irá lançar um novo serviço em 1º de Maio. Eles irão disponibilizar gratuitamente os últimos episódios de “Lost”, “Desperate Housewives”, “Commander in Chief” and “Alias” on-line, no dia seguinte à sua exibição nos EUA. A estratégia foi criada com a intenção de reduzir a pirataria nas redes P2P, mesmo que você não possa baixar o vídeo, apenas assistir em stream. De qualquer forma, a notícia é excelente!

I just finished watching Doom (IMDB), a movie based on the famous game. It’s a very exciting and thrilling movie, but it’s no way scarier than the game, not even close a bit. Ok, I know, you can’t expect too much, they need to sell it after all.

Anyway, the most interesting part happens at about 1h27m, when they roll up some scenes the mimics the feeling from the game. The character appears in first person, walk around the place, shoot some monsters, loads it’s weapon some times. It was the most exciting part for the game fans. It gave me chills. Really exciting!

Recommended movie, for the fans or not. But beware, if you never played the game and think about it after watching the movie, make sure you have your cardiologist’s phone number handy.

Acabei de assistir Doom (IMDB), um filme baseado no famoso jogo. � um filme bastante empolgante e com muito suspense mas não é nada tão amedrontador quanto o jogo, nem de perto. Ok, eu sei, não dá pra esperar muito, afinal eles precisam vender.

De qualquer forma, a parte mais interessante acontece mais ou menos a 1h27m, quando começam umas cenas que imitam a sensação do jogo. O personagem aparece em primeira pessoa, anda pelo lugar, atira em alguns monstros, recarrega a arma algumas vezes. Foi a parte mais empolgante para os fãs do jogo. Me deixou arrepiado. Muito massa!

Filme recomendado, para os fãs do jogo ou não. Mas tenha cuidado, se você nunca jogou e pensar nisso depois de assistir o filme, tenha certeza de ter o telefone do cardiologista por perto.

Há algum tempo atrás eu vi um post no blog do Claudio Matsuoka sobre uma série chamada The Lone Gunmen. Apesar da série já ter sido cancelada (infelizmente só durou meia temporada), resolvi dar uma olhada. Baixei os vídeos e gostei do que vi. � uma série meio deturpada e estereotipada, mas inteligente e interessante. Sugiro uma olhada para quem gosta de temas como teoria da conspiração, hackers éticos, e muito palavreado geek.

Para aqueles que não tem um inglês tão bom, e não conseguem se virar de ouvido, eu traduzi as legendas do inglês para português. Como eu não tenho muito tempo pra isso, fiz o primeiro episódio em três dias. Não garanto quando vou conseguir os outros, mas já é um começo.

Now I’ve found A Gamer’s Day, a very cool home made video from Daniel P. Schenk, a sick guy who lives in Germany (I think) and likes to make movies and write books by his own.

This movie is a very cool way of seeing one day of a sick internet gamer, clearly addicted to Counter Strike. Besides the normal fact that he doesn’t want to leave the room, yels at his mom, forgets his girlfriend birthday and is a pig (in the sense of dirty), he also is totally nuts! He (thinks) dresses like a counter-terrorist and start wandering around on his place faking like he’s on a real CS round. That’s what I call sick.

Anyway, it’s a very interesting movie. And the witter were very intelligent not involving any dialogs or such, so it can be watched by any non-german spoken people. Ok, there are some speaches and words on the screen and walls, but they’re not important to the story.

An the best part: it’s a free download!

Oh! And you can find some other stuff on his site too. Maybe I’ll comment on them another day.
